Fact-checked · sources listed below

Most Instagram influencers make somewhere between $25 and $150 per feed post at 1,000 to 10,000 followers, roughly $250 to $5,000 at 10,000 to 100,000, and $10,000 or more at 1 million followers and above, according to 2026 industry rate guides. These are wide ranges, not fixed prices. Reels usually cost more than a feed post. What you actually earn depends on your engagement, your niche, who your audience is, the format, and what rights the brand wants over your content.

Instagram itself does not pay you for sponsored posts or publish rates. Brands pay creators directly, so every number below is a market estimate. Use it as a starting point, then adjust for your own account.

Shopify and Influee both published 2026 rate guides built from industry benchmarks. Their feed post ranges match, and Influee also breaks rates down by format. All figures are in US dollars per piece of content.

Two things to keep in mind. First, a marketer quoted in Shopify's guide says real rates don't tend to jump between tiers as sharply as a table suggests, and warns brands against anchoring their budget on these ranges. Second, the ranges are wide because follower count is only one input. Two accounts with the same following can quote very different prices.

How pay per post is estimated

Another way to price is to start from engagement rather than follower count. Shopify's 2026 guide gives a simple formula:

Followers × engagement rate × rate per engagement = base rate

Shopify puts the rate per engagement at about 5 to 8 cents for general lifestyle content and 10 to 15 cents for beauty and fashion. Its worked example: 50,000 followers × 3% engagement × 10 cents = a $150 base rate. Extras are then added on top. In Shopify's example, usage rights, exclusivity and a rushed timeline bring the total to $325.

Notice how low that is compared with the micro tier in the table. Formulas give you a floor to reason from, not a ceiling. If you don't know your engagement rate yet, our guide to what a good engagement rate on Instagram is explains how to work it out.

How much to charge for a Reel

Influee's 2026 guide calls Reels the most expensive format on Instagram and says they usually cost 2 to 3 times a static post. Its ranges per Reel are $50 to $300 for nano creators, $750 to $5,000 for micro creators and $2,500 to $15,000 in the mid tier. Video takes more time to plan, film and edit, and that is part of the price.

  • Start from your feed post rate and multiply it by about 2 to 3, then check the result against the Reel column in the table above.
  • Look at your Reel results, not just your followers. Brands often judge value by cost per engagement: your fee divided by the average likes, comments, saves and shares a Reel gets. Influee describes under $0.50 per engagement as strong.
  • Offer a lower price per Reel for a series. In Influee's example, a single Reel at $1,000 might drop to $800 each if a brand books three.
  • Charge for extras separately, such as rush delivery, usage rights in ads, or exclusivity.

How much do influencers make in the UK?

There is no official UK price list, but Awin's January 2026 guide to UK influencer marketing costs gives a rough guide in pounds. It covers all platforms, not Instagram alone:

TierFollowersPer post
Nano1K to 10K£100 to £350
Micro10K to 100K£350 to £1,000
Mid-tier100K to 500K£1,000 to £5,000
Macro500K to 1M£5,000 to £12,000
Mega1M+£12,000 to £20,000
Rough UK influencer rates per post, all platforms (GBP)

Awin calls these figures a rough guide. It says real prices depend on things like engagement, audience size and quality, niche, content quality, format, usage rights and timing, with busy periods such as Black Friday and Christmas affecting costs. The factors below apply in the UK just as they do elsewhere.

What drives your rate up or down

Engagement

Brands want people to act on what you post. Likes, comments, saves and shares show that your audience is paying attention. Influee's guide treats saves and shares as stronger signs of buying intent than likes. A smaller account with an active audience can out-earn a bigger one that gets little response.

Niche

Some topics are worth more to advertisers. Influee estimates that finance, B2B and software, and health and wellness creators charge around 2 to 3 times base rates. Beauty, fitness and parenting sit at roughly 1 to 1.5 times. Broad lifestyle, fashion and food sit closer to the baseline because so many creators compete there.

Audience location

A brand can only sell to people in the places it ships to or operates in. If most of your audience lives in a brand's target market, your post is worth more to that brand. Neither rate guide puts a number on this, so treat it as a point to raise in talks: share your top countries and cities from Instagram's insights in your media kit.

Format and workload

Reels usually cost more than feed posts, and Stories cost less. Extra work also adds cost: detailed creative briefs, several rounds of edits, rush deadlines, or a link in your bio for a set period.

Usage rights and exclusivity

Your base rate normally covers one post on your own account. If the brand wants to reuse your content in paid ads, on its website, or on its own channels, that is extra. Influee estimates usage rights add 20% to 50%, depending on how long and where the content is used. Exclusivity, where you agree not to work with competitors for a while, adds about 25% to 50% for 30 days, and a window of 90 days or more can roughly double the fee.

How to set your rate card

  1. Know your numbers. Note your followers, average reach, and engagement rate from your last 10 to 20 posts. Also note your top audience countries and age groups.
  2. Work out a base rate. Use the engagement formula above, or our Instagram money calculator, then check the result against the tier table.
  3. Adjust for niche and format. Move up if you are in a high-value niche or your engagement is above average. Price Reels above feed posts and Stories below them.
  4. List your add-ons. Set separate prices for usage rights (per period), exclusivity, extra revisions, rush delivery, and link-in-bio time.
  5. Offer packages. A bundle such as one Reel plus three Stories is simple for brands to approve and can raise the value of each deal.
  6. Review every few months. Raise your rates as your audience and results grow. Keep screenshots of results from past campaigns to back up your price.

Growing an account brands want to pay

Brands check more than your follower count. They look at engagement, comment quality, and whether your audience matches their customers. That means steady, useful content in one clear niche is still the main thing that raises your rates. See how many followers you need to make money on Instagram for the other ways creators earn. Some creators use a follower package to give a new or stalled account a starting boost, so it looks established when brands and new visitors first see it. Folzora's follower packages need no password and come with a 30-day refill guarantee. They don't replace good content or real engagement, though. Meta's Community Standards, which cover Instagram, say not to buy or sell engagement such as follows, and brands that check engagement will notice the difference. Frequently asked questions

How much does an Instagram influencer with 10k followers make per post?

Around 10,000 followers sits where the nano and micro tiers meet. 2026 rate guides put nano feed posts at $25 to $150 and micro feed posts from $250 upward, so a feed post at this size usually falls somewhere around $150 to $250 by those benchmarks. Strong engagement or a high-value niche can push it higher.

How much do influencers with 100k followers make on Instagram?

At about 100,000 followers you move into the mid tier, where 2026 rate guides estimate $1,600 to $10,000 for a feed post and $2,500 to $15,000 for a Reel. Usage rights, exclusivity and packages are charged on top.

Does Instagram pay influencers for posts?

Not for sponsored posts. Brands pay creators directly for branded content, and Instagram's role there is to provide tools such as the paid partnership label. Instagram does have some ways to earn from the platform itself, such as gifts on Reels and subscriptions, but eligibility depends on your account and country.

How do I calculate my Instagram rate?

One common method is followers multiplied by engagement rate multiplied by a rate per engagement, often 5 to 15 cents depending on niche. Then add charges for usage rights, exclusivity and extra work, and check the result against typical rates for your follower tier.

How much should I charge for a Reel?

A common rule of thumb is 2 to 3 times your feed post rate. 2026 rate guides put Reels at about $50 to $300 for nano creators, $750 to $5,000 for micro creators and $2,500 to $15,000 in the mid tier. Charge extra for usage rights, exclusivity and rush delivery, and put a time limit on any usage rights.

How much do influencers make per post in the UK?

Awin's 2026 rough guide for the UK, across all platforms, puts nano influencers at about £100 to £350 per post, micro influencers at £350 to £1,000 and mid-tier influencers at £1,000 to £5,000. Gifted products also count as income for UK tax purposes.
