How this Instagram money calculator works
It starts from a typical price per 1,000 followers for your platform, then scales it by your engagement compared with a "good" rate on that platform. A rate equal to the platform's "good" rate leaves the estimate as it is; lower rates reduce it and higher ones raise it, capped between 0.5× and 2× so extreme rates can't skew it.
Feed post ≈ followers ÷ 1,000 × price per 1,000 × engagement multiplier
Engagement multiplier = your rate ÷ platform "good" rate (0.5 to 2)
Example: 25,000 Instagram followers with a 4.5% engagement rate gives a multiplier of 4.5 ÷ 3 = 1.5, so a feed post comes out at about $187.50 to $562.50.
Assumptions behind the estimate
| Platform | Price per 1,000 followers | "Good" engagement rate |
|---|---|---|
| $5 – $15 | 3% | |
| TikTok | $3 – $10 | 6% |
| $3 – $9 | 1% | |
| X (Twitter) | $2 – $6 | 1% |
- Story mention: about 0.35× the feed post price
- Reel / short video: about 1.5× the feed post price
- 3-post bundle: about 2.6× the feed post price
Real offers also depend on your niche, audience country, usage rights and exclusivity, none of which a calculator can see. Frequently asked questions
How much do influencers earn per post?
A common starting point is about $5 to $15 per 1,000 followers on Instagram and $3 to $10 on TikTok. Engagement, niche, audience location and usage rights all move the price up or down.
How many followers do you need to get paid?
Brands work with nano creators from around 1,000 to 10,000 followers, especially in niches like beauty, fitness and local business. A strong engagement rate matters more than raw follower count at that size.
How accurate is this estimate?
It is a ballpark based on typical market rates, adjusted for your engagement compared with the average on each platform. Real offers depend on your niche, content quality, audience country and the deal itself.
What should I charge for a Reel or a Story compared with a post?
This calculator prices a Story mention at about a third of a feed post, a Reel or short video at about one and a half times, and a three-post bundle at about 2.6 times. These are rough rules of thumb, so adjust them for how much work each piece takes.
How do I raise my rates?
Grow an engaged audience, keep a media kit with your reach and engagement rate, show results from past campaigns, and charge extra for usage rights, exclusivity and multi-post packages.
